Adre Baroz, 26, from Sanford, Colorado, was arrested at a motel in Gallup on Thursday afternoon, CBI said in a release. He faces charges of first-degree suicide, first-degree assault and second-degree kidnapping.
Local and state authorities announced Wednesday that they had found the bodies of three people on two properties in Lasauses, Colorado, while securing a search.
Lasauses is a small town along the Rio Grande, just across the border from New Mexico.
Investigators say it can take weeks or months to determine a person’s gender, age and identity.
Monte Vista Police Chief George Dingfelder says anthropologists have been able to identify three bodies.
Baroz was taken into custody without incident, according to his release, and was taken to the Gallup Detention Center.
Because of the ongoing investigation, law enforcement officials did not provide any details that led them to identify Baroz as a suspect, how long the bodies were on the property or how they could be linked to a recent disappearance.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
The arrest warrant is still sealed, according to the release.
