Investigators with the Manhattan Bureau of Attorney, which is conducting a comprehensive criminal investigation, and the New York State Bureau of Investigation, which is conducting a civic investigation, have filed a complaint with the Trump administration seeking records related to the consultation fee.
“Everything is strictly enforced in accordance with applicable law and under the guidance of consultants and tax experts,” Alan Garten, the Trump administration’s general adviser, told the Times. He added that “all applicable taxes have been paid and that no party has received undue benefits.”
The New York investigation is facing the worst of Trump as he leaves office and becomes a private citizen.
City attorneys have been fighting for half a year over the presidential tax bill. The Supreme Court is expected to rule on the matter soon. The investigation is extensive, and prosecutors have suggested in court that it could include anything from insurance fraud, tax fraud or fraudulent systems – equivalent to the central bank’s fraudulent service charges.
The New York State Attorney’s investigation is focused on whether Trump or Trump’s agency misappropriated certain assets in violation of tax laws or when seeking a $ 100 million loan and loan waiver. They have identified at least four of Trump’s properties under scrutiny.
